I-25 Corridor Initiative

SW Weld County is located within the I-25 and Highway 85 Corridor that is directly north of the Denver Metropolitan area. A total of 11 communities and 2 local chambers of commerce are involved in the I-25 Corridor Initiative.

The Purpose

The Initiative is a program administered by Upstate Colorado Economic Development and overseen by a local Steering Committee intended to enhance and focus economic development efforts within a sub-area of Weld County. The Initiative seeks to strengthen the local economy by supporting the expansion and competitiveness of the primary sector job base in the area, and in the process, increase economic support to the retail, service and professional sectors; and increase local tax revenues.

Upstate Colorado has convened the leadership of the SW Weld/I-25 area to develop a more focused strategy that highlights the specific characteristics and assets of a defined sub-area of Weld County.
