I-76 Corridor Economic Development Initiative

I-76 is a critical link to the rest of the United States by connecting to I-80 and I-70, two of the longest interstate routes in the nation. This area is prime for transit dependant companies.

This initiative is a collaborative effort between representatives of the towns of Hudson, Keenesburg and Lochbuie; local educational institutions, utilities and private sector businesses. Its goal is to construct a strategic plan for economic development that is consistent with the opportunities, assets and resources available to this region of Colorado.

The goal of the initiative is to strengthen the local economy, increase employment opportunities and raise per capita incomes.

Steering Committee

To construct the plan, the communities have appointed a Steering Committee comprised of members representing each of the towns, educational institutions, utilities, and major private sector employers within southeast Weld County. The Steering Committee meets on a regular basis to discuss these goals. The Steering Committee has been responsible for developing a plan that outlines realistic expectations, goals, objectives and strategies that will result in a stronger local economy for the I-76 corridor region.
