Weld County Cultural Amenities

Weld County offers a number of different museums, theatrical venues and other cultural events. A few of the major offerings are:


Union Colony Dinner Theater

Located at 802 9th Street in the heart of Downtown Greeley, the Union Colony Dinner Theater is an elegant facility with a family oriented environment. It offers a range of entertainment such as musicals, comedies, and drama as well as other events.

Arts at UNC

The College of Performing and Visual Arts at the Univeristy of Northern Colorado offers a variety of cultural venues from theater, concerts and art shows. This includes the Little Theater of the Rockies, the Mari Michener Gallery and Oak Room Gallery.

Centennial Village Museum

The Centennial Village Museum in Island Grove Park in Greeley allows families to tour the Old West and is an interpretation of the agricultural, architectural and cultural heritage of Greeley. This open air museum has a village based on life in a small 19th century town out on the open prairie. It offers an old railroad depot, blacksmiths shop, Cheyenne indian tipi replicas, covered wagons and more.

Colorado Farm Show

An annual three-day event featuring almost 350 agriculture related exhibits drawing more than 30,000 visitors from throughout the region. The exhibits are geared towards those interested in learning more about ag products, services, and machinery.

Greeley Freight Station Museum

This museum had become the leading year-round tourist attraction in Weld County. The highlight of the museum is its huge, 5,500 sq. ft. operating miniature railroad dubbed "the finest model railroad I’ve ever seen". In addition to the miniature railroads, this one-of-a-kind facility features over 600 railroad-related artifacts ranging from a Virginia and Truckee Railroad switch key to a full-sized wooden caboose available for examining both inside and out.

Greeley Independance Day Stampede

An annual event featuring professional rodeo, children's rodeo, country and classic rock concerts, a televised 4th of July Parade, a demolition derby, a carnival with rides and booths, and a Western art show.

Miner's Memorial Museum

This museum is located in Frederick, Colorado at 143 5th Street. It is a tribute to the coal miners that helped to establish the town.

Greeley Museums

Greeley has several musuems to learn about the history of the area. Along with the Centennial Village Museum in Island Grove Park, there is the Greeley History Musuem, the Meeker Home and the Plumb Farm Learning Center.

Fort Lupton Museum

This museum is located in the heart of Fort Lupton. It offers a look at Fort Lupton's past with exhibits of arrowheads, natural artifacts, commercial and industrial mementos. It also has extensive archives of family histories, cemetery records, business documents and old photos.

Union Colony Civic Center

The Union Colony Civic Center provides Northern Colorado and the surrounding areas with a variety of the best local, regional and national entertainment, including Broadway musicals, comedy, concerts, dance, plays and more.
