At Upstate Colorado we work with Weld County and its partnering communities in actively pursuing business opportunities that will strengthen and enhance the local economy. These jurisdictions are prepared to work closely with businesses to make a location or expansion a reality. Here in Weld County we are pro-growth. We have methods to help companies handle their needs and we are willing to take reasonable steps toward reducing start up and development costs.

  • Loan Funds for Doing Business in Weld County

    Upstate Colorado administers the Weld/Larimer Revolving Loan Fund and the Greeley Community Development Fund in an effort to help companies get the critical financial support required to run a successful business. Upstate Colorado also administers the Greeley/Weld Enterprise Zone (EZ FYI) program, which offers state income tax credits to qualifying companies that are physically located within the boundaries of the Greeley/Weld EZ, as shown in the maps on the Enterprise Zone page of this web site.

    Programs for Promoting New Business and
    Expansion in Weld County

    Enterprise Zones

    Enterprise Zones are designated regions that are seen as distressed areas where the state government wish to promote business growth and job creation. Upstate Colorado administers the Greeley/Weld Enterprise Zone, EZ. For businesses that currently exist within these zones, or will be moving into these zones, this program offers the opportunity to earn state income tax credits based on the businesses investment and job creation activities. In addition, Upstate Colorado also certifies and administers EZ tax credits for contributions to approved non-profit agencies and/or projects that play a role in implementing the economic development plan for the Enterprise Zone.

    Revolving Loan Fund

    Upstate Colorado administers the Weld County/Larimer County Revolving Loan Fund, utilizing federal funds to provide gap financing for companies that expand the job base in rural Weld and Larimer Counties.

    Greeley Community Development Fund

    Upstate Colorado administers the Greeley Community Development Fund which extends financial assistance to qualifying companies that plan to expand or to locate in Greeley.

    Infrastructure Grant Program

    Upstate Colorado provides grant application and implementation assistance to eligible communities seeking federal Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) dollars for infrastructure projects.

    American Recovery and Reinvestment Act

We also provide the GIS Mapping Tool which allows users to conduct self-directed property searches. The GIS Mapping tool also has the ability to generate a variety of ESRI reports with information pertinent to site selection and business growth.
