Enterprise Zones
Colorado's Enterprise Zone program provides tax incentives to encourage businesses to locate and expand in designated economically distressed areas of the state. Businesses located in an Enterprise Zone may qualify for up to nine Enterprise Zone Tax Credits that encourage job creation and investment in the Enterprise Zone. Local jurisdictions may have additional incentive opportunities in the Enterprise Zone.
Upstate Colorado Economic Development administers the Greeley/Weld Enterprise Zone. For businesses that currently exist within these zones, or will be moving into these zones, this program offers the opportunity to earn state income tax credits based on the businesses investment and job creation activities. In addition, Upstate Colorado also certifies and administers EZ tax credits for contributions to approved non-profit agencies and/or projects that play a role in implementing the economic development plan for the Enterprise Zone.
